Edward Donley, Emeritus

With his retirement from Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. in 1986, Edward Donley completed 43 years of active service to the company, which included 12 years as president of the company and eight years as chairman. He continued his service on the Executive Committee of Air Products’ Board until 1992. Ed has served on a number of corporate boards and was chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1986-87. His interest and involvement in education is demonstrated by his service over the past two decades as a member of several state and national boards, including the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, the National Assessment Governing Board, the Teacher Education Accreditation Council, the U.S. Chamber’s Center for Workforce Preparation and Quality Education, the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools, the Council for Aid to Education, National Center on the Educational Quality of the Workforce, Pennsylvania State Board of Education, and Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children. He is a Board member and the former chairman of StandardsWork, Inc. and is active in the Lehigh Valley Business-Education Partnership and other community initiatives. Donley has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Lawrence Technological University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
