Stinson Stroup

As the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, Stinson is responsible to a 33-member Board of Governors and three staff members for the general operation of the Association and its program of services. He brings to his position a broad range of experience in basic education, higher education and state government. He was Assistant Professor of Education Administration at Lehigh University and before that was Director of the Governor’s program planning group. He served as Executive Assistant to the Secretary of Education and co-director of the Pennsylvania School Code project. He was an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Counsel to the Associations of Elementary and Secondary School Principals and Solicitor for a Pennsylvania school district. Mr. Stroup is past-chair of the Education Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He currently serves on the Board of the Pennsylvania Chautauqua, the Mt. Gretna Playhouse Operating Committee and the Sylvan Heights Charter School. Stinson earned his A.B. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana, a M.S.Ed. in Secondary and Adult Education from Northern Illinois University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
