ENACTED LEGISLATION

Act 210 (Senate Bill 931)
Extends the state's higher education tuition waiver program to the children of sheriffs, deputy sheriffs and soldiers killed during active state or federal duty. The legislation was amended to be retroactive to September 11, 2001.

House Bill 1894 (Rep. William Gabig)
Prohibits tuition from increasing for four years (until June 30, 2007).

House Bill 2223 (Rep. Frank Pistella)
Establishes the Older Adult Postsecondary Educational Gratuity Program. The program provides free tuition for state residents 60-years-old or older to pursue courses of interest at the state's community colleges, state system of higher education universities, or state-related universities on a space-available basis.

House Bill 2483 (Rep. Peter Zug)
Independent Higher Education and Community Financing Act

House Bill 2502 (Rep. Tom Stevenson)
Requires higher education institutions to provide undergraduate students with information about per-student fees, the cost of instruction, and tuition as a percentage of instructional cost when transmitting tuition bills.
