PENNSYLVANIA LEGISLATION
2003-2004 Legislative Session
House Bill 1325 (Rep. Michael Veon)
Omnibus bill that includes the establishment of performance
contracts for administrators.
Senate Bill 501 (Sen. Jeffrey Piccola)
Makes omnibus changes to the school code that include requiring
performance evaluations for school administrators and
teachers. The bill outlines corrective actions that may be taken
for school personnel who do not receive satisfactory evaluations.
The bill also requires professional development to be linked to
areas of need identified by analysis of student assessment data.
Finally, SB 501 establishes a merit pay grant program.
