To Whom It May Concern:

I spent seventeen years on my local school board and have a strong twenty-two year record in the Pennsylvania Legislature in support of public education and the funding of the same and I pledge to continue that support.

I have done a little background work and am not convinced that money spent alone is the total answer. Many districts with a high to very high poverty rating spend far less on a per pupil basis than many of our suburban schools with equal or better SAT's.

Much of your questionnaire seems to imply that the problem of unequal spending per child is a cause of unequal attainment.

Sincerely,

Robert W. Godshall
State Representative
53rd District
