Pennsylvania Education Finance Symposium
The 2006 Pennsylvania Education Finance Symposium took place
November 16-17, 2006 in Harrisburg, PA.
The event featured sessions on education finance reform across the
nation, Pennsylvania's costing-out study, Maryland's experience with
a statewide education finance reform commission, and
the condition of the Public School Employees' Retirement System,
as well a panel on proposed legislation to establish a statewide
school employees health benefits systems.
Participants also received an update on education finance issues
before the state legislature
from Senator Pat Browne and Representative Beverley Mackereth.
The event concluded with a panel of advocates discussing strategies
for building public and policymaker support for change.
