3rd Annual Education Policy and Leadership Conference Kicks Off Sunday
(Harrisburg) - The 3rd annual Pennsylvania Education Policy and
Leadership Conference, sponsored by The Education Policy and Leadership Center,
will be held Sunday, March 13 through Tuesday, March 15 at the
Harrisburg-Hershey Wyndham. This annual gathering brings together policymakers,
educators, parents, business and community leaders to confer about education
issues important to the future of Pennsylvania. Participants benefit from the
unique perspectives offered by this diverse gathering of education stakeholders.
Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Francis Barnes will address the conference
on Monday afternoon. Pennsylvania Secretary of Policy and Planning Donna Cooper
speaks following dinner on Monday. The full conference agenda includes 20
plenary and concurrent sessions, including two Sunday afternoon pre-conference
workshops on "Highly Qualified Requirements - Implications for Practitioners and
School Staffing" and "Act 72 - Issues for School Boards and Communities."
Registrations for the 2005 Pennsylvania Education Policy and Leadership
Conference will be accepted on site on both Sunday, March 13 and Monday, March
