New Advocates Ready to Raise Their Voices for Education
(Harrisburg) - The Education Policy and Leadership Center congratulates the graduates of the 2003-2004 Institute for Community Leadership in Education (ICLE). ICLE graduates participate in regional leadership development programs focused on education and children's policy issues. The thirty members of the 2003-2004 ICLE graduate armed with the knowledge they need to serve as effective advocates for education. These dedicated community leaders join 113 ICLE alumni from across the Commonwealth and represent an important voice for improving the lives of children in Pennsylvania.

The Institute for Community Leadership in Education was established in the fall of 2000. The program is designed for current and emerging community leaders who want to increase their knowledge about important statewide and local education policy issues. Since its inception, the ICLE program has expanded to include sites in Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, the Lehigh Valley, and Berks County. In fall 2004, a new program will be launched in the Greater Susquehanna Valley. The Institute is managed by the Harrisburg-based Education Policy and Leadership Center with support from local site sponsors.
