Leadership Workshops

Parent and Community Leadership Institute

The Parent and Community Leadership Institute was a free, 12-hour program presented by The Education Policy and Leadership Center and co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania PTA.  The program may be held again in Spring 2014.

The goals of the Institute are to:

  • Promote public awareness and engagement concerning significant education policy issues.
  • Build community networks of informed citizens who will support and advocate for effective education policies.
  • Enhance the knowledge and skills of parent, community and school leaders and expand the pool of potential school board candidates.

The Institute is designed for a broad range of current or emerging community leaders that include parents of school-age children, business and professional persons, educators, civic leaders, local elected officials, school board members, prospective school board candidates, and others who want to learn more about public education policy issues.
