Alisha Klase painted the owl watercolor artwork that was featured in the program, advertising, and signage for the Sixth Annual Arts and Education Symposium. She painted the owl – “Chavette”– when she was in eleventh grade at Palmyra Area High School (2015-16), and she is now in her senior year there (graduating in June 2017). In March 2016, her artwork was featured in the Pennsylvania Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month exhibition at the Pennsylvania Department of Education office building in Harrisburg.
Framed prints of Alisha’s artwork were awarded to Alisha and to the recipients of the 2016 Arts Education School Board Leadership Award and the 2016 Arts Education Policy Leader Award, presented by EPLC and the Pennsylvania Arts Education Network.
